Synopsis

Set against the rugged backdrop of the Eastern Ghats, Sheelavathi: The Ghaati Queen follows the journey of Sheelavathi (Anushka Shetty), a bus conductor, and her partner Desi Raju (Vikram Prabhu), a medical lab technician. Living a modest life, they dream of liberating their community from the clutches of the cannabis trade. The region is dominated by the ruthless Naidu brothers—Kaastala Naidu (Ravindra Vijay) and Kundhul Naidu (Chaitanya Rao Madadi)—who exploit the Ghaatis, a marginalized tribal community involved in transporting cannabis along the Andhra-Odisha border.

In a bid to break free from the cartel’s grip, Sheelavathi and Desi Raju devise a plan to produce and smuggle a more potent form of cannabis—liquid cannabis (or cannabis oil). Their operation disrupts the Naidu brothers’ monopoly, leading to a violent retaliation. Desi Raju is murdered, and Sheelavathi is left to pick up the pieces, transforming from a victim to a formidable force seeking justice.

The film chronicles Sheelavathi’s evolution into a feared protector of her people, as she wages a relentless campaign against the Naidu brothers and their allies, including corrupt officials and corporate tycoons. The narrative culminates in a climactic showdown, where Sheelavathi confronts her adversaries, aiming not just for revenge but for the liberation of her community.
