Synopsis
The series opens with the shocking discovery of a young girl named Naina, whose body is found inside a politician’s campaign car. The case immediately captures public attention, drawing the police into a high-stakes investigation filled with lies, power, and betrayal.
At the center of the story is ACP Sanyukta Das, played brilliantly by Konkona Sen Sharma, a tough yet deeply human officer. Sanyukta is preparing to leave her current post to focus on her personal life, but fate drags her back into duty when the Naina murder case breaks.
Teaming up with her colleague Jai Kanwal (played by Surya Sharma), Sanyukta begins an intense investigation that reveals disturbing secrets — from hidden relationships to political manipulation. As more suspects emerge, the truth becomes increasingly difficult to uncover. Each clue opens up another mystery, pushing the investigation into darker territories.
The case not only tests Sanyukta’s professional skills but also challenges her as a mother and wife. Her struggle to balance justice with personal responsibility gives the story emotional depth, making it more than just another police procedural.

Themes Explored
Truth and Power
The show highlights how truth is often buried under political interests and public image. The deeper Sanyukta digs, the more powerful people she disturbs.
Female Strength and Struggle
Sanyukta Das isn’t a perfect cop or a perfect mother. She’s flawed, tired, and emotional — but she’s also determined. Her journey reflects the strength and reality of working women everywhere.
Morality and Justice
The story questions what justice truly means in a system filled with manipulation. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the price of doing what’s right is painfully high.
Media and Public Pressure
Social media and news channels amplify every move of the investigation. The show cleverly shows how public opinion can affect real justice.
Visual Style and Tone
The cinematography captures a gritty, realistic city atmosphere — dark lanes, rainy nights, and tense interrogation rooms. The visual storytelling mirrors the moral grey area of the story. The background score is haunting and builds suspense without overdoing it.
The tone is slow-burning and investigative, much like classic Nordic noir thrillers. It’s methodical rather than flashy, focusing on realism over dramatics.
